What is The Nourishing Collection?

The Nourishing Collection is the first of our three evening essential collections, formulated around Intercellular Lipids and a proprietary Ceramide Complex to comfort, fortify, and replenish skin barrier function overnight. Each formulation works to restore the lipid matrix that may be depleted by daily exposure to solar and environmental damage, leaving skin feeling soft, calm, and resilient by morning.

What do Ceramides and Lipids do for skin?

Ceramides and Intercellular Lipids are the building blocks of the skin's barrier: the matrix that retains moisture and protects against environmental aggressors. As Skin Identical molecules, they integrate seamlessly into the barrier to replenish lost lipids, support hydration, calm the appearance of redness, and restore skin comfort. They are essential for resilient, healthy-looking skin at every age.

Who is The Nourishing Collection suited to?

When should I use Nourishing formulations?

The Nourishing Collection is formulated for night-time use, beginning each evening ritual with #4 The Nourishing PreCleanse Balm and #4 The Nourishing Cleanser. Several Nourishing formulations (#4 The Nourishing Eye Crème, #4 The Nourishing Crème, #4 The Nourishing Balm) are also suitable for daytime use, depending on your unique needs, as a final hydrating layer beneath your SPF.

What is the difference between hydration and nourishment?

Hydration refers to the skin's water content, supported by humectants such as Hyaluronic Acid. Nourishment, or moisturisation, refers to the skin's lipid content: the oils and Ceramides that hold hydration in and protect against trans-epidermal water loss. Healthy skin requires both.

Is The Nourishing Collection suitable for oily or combination skin?

Yes, the moisturising nourishing delivered by this collection is essential for all skin types, including oily and combination skin. Lipid imbalance can paradoxically trigger excess sebum production as the skin attempts to compensate. Meaning, if oily skin is not receiving the essential hydration and moisture it needs, it stimulates more oil to try to moisturise and protect itself. Can I use Nourishing formulations with Refining or Rejuvenating actives?

Yes. The Nourishing Collection complements The Refining Collection (Hydroxy Acids and Peptides) and The Rejuvenating Collection (Vitamin A, Bakuchiol and DNA Repair Enzymes) within the PM ritual. Lipid replenishment helps support skin comfort when introducing or layering active formulations, making the Nourishing Collection an essential companion for any client using retinol/retinal or Hydroxy Acids overnight.
