For those who don’t know you yet, how would you describe who you are and what you do?
I’m a professional makeup artist originally from Sydney, Australia, but I’ve been living in Los Angeles for the past 18 years. I have two beautiful kids and two big dogs, and I’m all about skin-first beauty. My work spans red carpets, press tours, editorial and everything in between, but at the heart of it, I focus on creating looks that feel refined, modern and deeply tailored to the person in my chair. I want people to walk away feeling like the most enhanced, confident version of themselves.
How has your evolution as a makeup artist shaped your perspective today?
I used to think makeup was primarily about perfect technique. Over time, I’ve learned it’s just as much about connection and intuition. My style has become more intentional and pared back. I choose products that elevate, not mask, and I work in a way that feels collaborative. I’m far more attuned to energy now, and that has completely shaped the way I create.
What’s inspiring you most in LA and New York right now?
In LA, it’s the light and the effortless approach to beauty—there’s a softness and warmth that naturally influences my work. In New York, it’s the contrast: the grit, boldness and fashion energy that pushes you creatively. Moving between the two constantly gives me a great balance of ease and edge. And with award season here, the gowns and glamour are incredibly inspiring.
When did RATIONALE first enter your skincare wardrobe?
A client of mine had just filmed a movie in Australia, and when I saw her on her return, I immediately noticed a change in her skin. I went straight to RATIONALE and filled my kit. I love skincare that delivers visible results quickly while still feeling luxurious and gentle.
Which RATIONALE formulations are your favourite?
I always reach for formulations that give instant radiance, refined texture and that healthy-looking sheen. They’re the products I trust when I need a flawless base, no matter the skin type. #2 The Light Crème is that product for me—it creates the perfect base. I also love #4 The PreCleanse Balm to remove makeup; it’s magic.
How do you bring your own style and sensibility into your creative spaces?
I like my spaces to feel calm, intentional and inviting—clean surfaces, good lighting and a very curated kit. Whether I’m at home, in my studio or on set, I try to create a little sanctuary. Organisation is key, but there’s always room for fun.
How do you like to begin a new year?
January is my reset month. I clear out my kit, reorganise my space and set a few intentions for the kind of energy I want to carry into the year.
And if you could only pack one RATIONALE product for a weekend away?
I’d take the product that gives me the most immediate glow and skin reset—something I know will make my complexion look rested, even if I’m not. That’s my non-negotiable for travel. It would have to be #6 The Night Crème.
You travel constantly for work. How does being on the move shape your approach to skin prep?
Travel has made me hyper-aware of my skin’s needs and how different environments affect texture, glow and longevity. I always adjust prep to the climate—more hydration in dry cities, more balance in humidity, and extra soothing when clients are exhausted or flying nonstop. Lighting plays a huge role too, so I build skin that translates beautifully from natural daylight to flash and red-carpet lighting.
