Research Paper 06

An Analysis of Gene Expression Changes Following the Application of Solar Protection and Repair Skincare Formulations.

Paper Summary

This Research Paper investigates gene expression changes in a 3D human skin model following the application of solar protection and repair skincare products. DNA microarray and quantitative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) were used to assess gene regulation. The study identified significant up-regulation of genes involved in skin protection and repair. These findings suggest that targeted skincare regimens enhance genes associated with photoprotection and skin repair, supporting their efficacy in mitigating solar-induced damage.

Title: Up-Regulated Expression of ICAM1, MT1A, PTGS2, LCE3D, PPARD, and GM-CSF2 Following Solar Skincare Protection and Repair Strategies in a 3-Dimensional Reconstructed Human Skin Model

Focus Formulations: #1 The Serum, #2 The Serum, #3 The Tinted Serum SPF50+, #4 The Crème, #5 The Serum, #6 The Night Crème.

Results: This study shows that the RATIONALE Essential Six can boost your skin’s natural defences and repair abilities. It does this by increasing the activity of genes responsible for protecting and repairing your skin from UV, visible light (VL), and near-infrared (NIR) radiation.
